Federation of New Zealand Aquatic Societies
FNZAS: What is it?
The FNZAS is a group of aquarist/aquarium societies that are dedicated to the improvement of the aquarium and fishkeeping hobby. Any society with kindred interests is eligible to join.
FNZAS: What does it do?
![]() | Disseminates knowledge throughout New Zealand by means of a quarterly magazine, the Aquarium World, through which any member of an affiliated society can have published their experiences, opinions and points of view on matters relating directly to the hobby.

![]() | Liaises with government departments from time to time on subjects such as "extended trading hours", "Import restrictions", "Quarantine procedures". "Noxious fishes proposed regulations" and more.

![]() | Publishes a Year Book to foster the social aspects of the hobby by enabling club members from all over the country to know of the existence of other hobbyists.

![]() | Holds an Annual Conference to allow affiliated members to get together and discuss matters relating to running the Federation, and concerning the hobby in general.

![]() | Encourages the improvement in the standard of fish kept as pets by promoting "Fish Shows" and Publishing "Judging Standards".

![]() | Provides a library of videos, slides and tapes for hire to member clubs. |
