Notes (Amended 9 October 1995)
1. Only fish hatching on or after 2 March will qualify for the next year.
2. Where less than 10 fish survive a further spawning will be necessary and the qualifying date will be 30 days after the 10th fish is free swimming. All 10 fish must be alive and in the possession of the breeder at the qualifying date.
Only one point per species with the exception of goldfish where all 11 classes as recognised by Judges and Standards will be treated as separate species. Both parents are to conform to the Type test. Some different populations of killifish are also treated as separate species.
The various species of discus will each receive a point but as most discus sold by the importers are an unknown mix of species the breeder and club breeding coordinator must be certain of the species of the parents. If there is doubt as to the parentage then the claim should be under the classification of Symphysodon spp and one point will be awarded. To obtain any further points for discus then the exact species of further breedings must be known.
3. Fish that hatch over an extended period will mean that the hatching date will be the date that the 10th fish hatches. All 10 fish are to be seen by the witness when the youngest is 30 days old.
6. (refers to rule #6) Clubs are to appoint a deputy breeding coordinator whose duties will include the checking of any breedings made by the breeding coordinator.
7. (refers to rule #7) Registrations are required quickly especially at the end of the year so that the deadlines for the conference can be met. Some idea of the progress of the contestants may be also included in the Aquatic World. Late registrations for pin points will be accepted.
8. (refers to rule #8) This rule is designed to clarify the situation where the breeder acquires either a mouthbrooder with a mouthful of eggs or acquires spawn such as killifish eggs.
9. (refer to rule #9) One point each year will be awarded in the rebreed scheme for any species which has been previously registered. A species can be entered in the rebreed scheme in the same year as it was originally registered if it is bred twice. Rebreeds can but do not have to be from the same parents as the original breeding.
A certificate will be awarded for the each species bred, a breeders badge with 5 pin after the 5th species and further pins after 10, 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100 species.
